On mine the pitot hole in the front of the lower drive got plugged.
The mechanic at the dealership told me to go buy a 1/8" x 12" drill bit at
the Ace hardware store down the street.
They had asked Ace to stock them just for that purpose and then sent
people there to purchase them.

When I had an OMC Stringer I towed with the drive up, stored it with the drive down.
Also had to drain the tilt housing after every trip because it sucked in water every time it was used.
Mine gets wet when launching and the jack would last a year or two until I figured out
what part was filling up with water and drilled two 1/8" drain holes on the lowest section.
In our small unincorporated town just about anything could be facilitated at the county for a minimum of $750.
Unfortunately when that guy passed away, there was nobody to fill his shoes.
Don't know how good your sewing skills are,
but mine are not good so I would pay a pro to do the work.
Otherwise I would cringe everytime I saw a cover that I had made.
