    How to run twin 5.0s from portable outboard tanks

    No two fuel pumps are “ exactly” the same. One might be slightly stronger than the other. That will cause one engine to starve for fuel. You will need two tanks, or a tank with two separate fittings.

    A good pellet gun is pretty strong. I’d imagine you could find one you like and compare the specs to an equivalent.22 and make a decision. A neighborhood kid was messing with one and blew out my car side window by accident, from 40 yards away.

    Looks a lot to me that you should dig out the launch area and put in a good base. Gravel and such. That alone will help with launching and retrieving. A good contractor would probably fix the underwater part good enough for a nicer surface.

    Carb problems on 1994 Mercruiser 7.4 Thunderbolt V

    A lot of those floats are the plastic type. They seem ok, but are saturated and to heavy. I’ve learned to just replace them. When it is running, look down the carb, you should see a mist, if there are any drips, it’s the float. It doesn’t show up when sitting.

    best muffs to use on mercruisers?

    I agree that the rubber is too stiff on some of them. I’ve had to duct ape on a set to get enough water to go in the drive. I quit using those.

    Dude brought his small outboard in and said he wanted a new impeller. When I took it apart, the housing was totally melted, replaced all that and tested the unit for leaks. All good. When he picked it up I asked him if he ran it without water? He said nope. ten minutes later I heard something...
