Boat was delivered yesterday. The upholstery turned out great but the real surprise is how smooth & quiet this Yamaha 4-stroke efi motor is. We can actually have a normal conversation in the back of the boat now!
I need to tie my pontoon as close to the end of my dock as possible because it's pretty shallow--esp. right now thanks to no rain. I've got the boat secured to the last 2 posts on my dock, against large plastic bumpers that keep it away from the steel wheels on this roll-in. The cleats shown...
With a pontoon, a ski boat, and 2 jetskis at my dock I got frustrated pretty quick with lugging 2- and 4-stroke cans all the way from the garage. I have 2 25gal gas caddies and they are working out fine for me.
Getting it in the truck is easy--it's empty. Getting it out is more challenging...
I've bought an '08 Avalon LS2000 pontoon (20' x 8'6") and took delivery today. The top on it is original and it's pretty tired. I'm thinking of replacing the material rather than repairing mine (stitching is failing, a couple small tears also).
I've bought several things over the years from...
I was towing my bowrider home after purchase (used) and about halfway home, on a stretch of 2-lane blacktop, I watched in my rearview as the tan platform took flight. I didn't know the seller didn't secure it.
Couldn't even get home with it before damaging the boat. 🤦🏻♂️
Before I moved I stupidly sold 4 full 5Gal cans of expensive Dowfrost PG that I once intended to use to change my cottage boiler fluid. I sold the place before getting around to that task so I short-sightedly thought the PG was no longer needed.
Oops.
Now my Mercruiser and jetskis have cheap...
My yard is littered with summer lake toys.
Sections of the 80' dock sit on the lawn, next to the double jetski lift. So sad.
I bought a snowmobile just for something to do in the winter.
I hate winter. I hate snow.
Now I find myself hypocritically wishing for snow.
Development continues--but without all the needed $$$ in subsidies and incentives that have been shoveled into the development of battery-power, it's a much slower process.
Hydrogen IS the way forward. It has the energy density needed to push a heavy vehicle hundreds of miles, fast refills, can...
I had a conversation 1 week ago with the manager of a local Husqvarna power equipment sales/service outlet. She had the same complaint about waiting over a year for service parts. So this is more universal & less political than tariffs & pushing new car sales.
Her claim was it's still due to...
