    hello, Ive drained my lower unit gear oil on my bravo 1 outdrive and am wondering if I should replace the washers that seal the drain and vent plugs while oil is drained. Not sure if its a good practice or if its not broke dont fix it scenario. thanks jim

    Hi, Its time to pull the bravo1 lower unit and grease the gimble joint and also do a lower unit oil change. any advise on which to do first? Also can i just drain the oil once the lower unit is pulled away from the stern and refill after bolted back up? thanks jim

    hub dust cap

    what I noticed was that the new bearing caps i installed were stamped with a good tolerance to lock them in but once I removed them the diameter was compressed causing a lack of tight fit when wanting to replace. Im thinking the caps are a cheap, thin chinese POS.

    actually I had installed new solid zinc coated caps, popped them off for a periodic inspection and the next trip out I noticed 1 had come offand a 2nd was ready to fall off as well. So Im just determining the best way forward without losing more caps going down the road.
