I'm missing the pump to the power trim on my engine. On this engine the pump is mounted in the boat and then two hoses to the cylinder on the motor.
I was wondering if I could get a pump and hoses for a Mercruiser inboard? Original parts are both hard to find, and very expensive.
Thanks for the tip, I will give that a try to rule out the pump driver.
I believe you have some knowledge about these engines. I made a video last time I was out on the lake. Can you take a look at it, listen to the sound of the engine? To me it's not running on all 6. I have gone through all...
Did change the HP pump earlier, not cheap, but made no difference.
Difficult when the problem only shows up now and then. I have noticed that I have 2.9V on pump - side when running over 2000rpm. Should be below 2V according to manual. But I have 2.9V both when engine running good and bad.
I have a problem with my Mariner 200 EFI. It loses fuel pressure to the injectors sometimes. I have installed a gauge so I can keep track on the value. And I have now connected an electric fuel pump between the tank in the boat and directly into the VST tank. It gives 97 gp/h liters/min if...
One thing I have been thinking of during all this time. What if I would switch the hoses from the thermostat house. Routing constant flow of bypass water through the manifold. And the warm water from when open thermostat to the elbow.
Thanks for all the input here since last time.
I have now changed the head gasket, and also went through the valves and seats while I had the head of. Now it’s back on, I still have to set the rocker arms to the right tension though.
There was a question from Lou C about the bypass and where...
Yes that is the plan, one problem at a time. And maybe the leak in the engine can have something to do with the over heating? I'll get back here when I have some news.
I did a leak down test today, and the result was everything but good.
Cylinder 1 leak about 10% through valve control (seal).
Cylinder 2 leaks to cylinder 3.
Cylinder 3 leaks to cylinder 2 and through valve control (Seal) and a some through the carb. Picture of this measurement.
Cylinder 4...
Thanks for trying to help me here.
One thing that I noticed in the Seloc maual is that on V6 and V8 the bypass from thermostat house goes through the manifold. Feeding them constant cold water from the lake. But not on the 4 cylinder, those engines just let the hot water from the engine cool...
Yes that oss what I like to have. But if you look at the picture, there will only be a flow through the manifold when the thermostat is open. The constant flow that come from the bypass in the thermostat house connects after the elbow.
I think its a strange system. Would like to switch the...
I have a engine with the cooling system as in the picture.
A new exhaust manifold is installed, new impeller and new thermostat.
The engine it self is not running hot, only exhaust manifold getting to hot. I guess that affects carburetor and intake of gas/air, cause after running full throttle...
Someone here that can tell me if I can use a stator from a 4 cylinder 80hp on a V6 200hp.
There is a black cable on the 200 that goes to ground that I don't have on the 80.
