1978 mercury 115 outboard wont fire

alright people i have strong spark from the distributor to the plugs. The timming belt is on right and the switch box is working great. Fuel is getting to the carbs just fine. It is puzzleing me as the boat was running great and just stalled out and will not fire

I don't know much, but I do know that an engine needs three basics to run: fuel, air (compression), and fire. If you have those three things (in the correct mix/order) it will try to run at least.

You are sure the timing belt didn't jump a tooth, what did you do to verify?

Skip the starter fluid, use pre-mixed fuel.

There is nothing in ether to lube the bearings or cyl's.
