I have a 1979 Johnson 150 model# 150949C. I had a piston detonate and some how did not gouge the cylinder walls very badly. I honed and had a mechanic check and he thought I would be ok to relpace the one piston. I have all the pistons back in and feels very smooth and ready to go. I purchased a gasket kit from the mechanic and there is no gasket for the crank case (goes between crank and block) is there supposed to be one? I looked here ( http://www.marineengine.com/parts/j...rer=Evinrude&section=Cylinder+&+Crankcase ) and do not see one. Stumped and a little pissed! Wanted to get this thing together today. Thanks for the help :)

There is no gasket, go to a auto parts store and ask for gel-seal It's red in color and comes in a red tube. Other wise known as anaerobic gasket maker. put a 3-1/6 bead on both sides of the block halves and spread it out with your finger.
