I have a 98 Johnson 8 horse that bogs down when in gear and under a load but reves up well in neutral. I had a repair shop clean the carb check the compression and spark and fuel lines which everything checked out fine. this motor will run great once in a great while, but when it is bogged down it will kick and act like it wants to pick up once in a while and some times it does. reading through the post it seems like Johnson and Evinrude has problems like this in all their motors, can anyone tell me what might be causing this problem? (and no it has not been ran with ethenol gas products)
