I don't think that you are getting my point. I don't think that anyone posts with the intention of getting praise or to make themselves feel superior due to their immense knowledge about a particuliar subject. What I am saying is that a simple "thanks for the input" or "appreciate the info" is warranted when someone helps you fix a problem or gives good advice.

Flaming someone that gives you a little heck in the process is just rude and ungrateful.

There should be no "price" as you say, but is this what we have become as a country, as a society? Do you not say "thank you" when a server brings your food at a resturant, even though it is their job to do so? When you call to get some clarification on your cell phone bill and the person explains it clearly and to your satisfaction do you not thank them for the help? That is why I call it "common" courtesy..should it not be common to thank someone when they help you, especially when it is not their job to do so?

And I respect your opinion and right to believe what you do, even though I do not agree. I believe that teaching people to have a minimum of respect regardless of age is a worthwhile endeavor.

Nothing says thanks like a nice cold beer on a warm day

That's not a bad idea for a rating system. I've noticed that some of the threads have stars next to them. Why not start a beer rating system based on the value of the responses. We could have a rating system with say, one beer, two beer, six pack, case, and keg values. What do you think?

Oh yea - this was my 1000th post!

One thing I have learned in the real world is people seldom say thanks when things go right and only hear from them when they don't.

At least this is true with my wife :)

......
You don?t have the right to free help my fellow Mainers. If you take a little ribbing along the way consider it money well spent.

"fellow Mainers"?

But your ID says you are from Texas...;)

Sorry..I come from a society where people look after each other and are grateful when helped. I'll fight the politeness fight until the day I die.
