These are/should be designed to remove because gas tanks and senders need to be inspected/replaced from time to time. All screws are out. tried hair dryer, putty knife around parameter pulling up on the vent hole, etc. Im at a loss just wont budge. Im thinking its swelled up.....
Its vinyl floor and no I didnt miss any screws. Its never been up before. Wonder if Alumacraft uses some kind of sealant? Which I doubt since they know it has to come up.
Does anybody have any suggestions on getting a floorboard up thats over the gas tank on a 2012 Alumacraft Competitor? I need to replace my fuel sender but cant access it till I get the board up. I have removed the screws but it fits so tightly I cant get it started to come up. I have tried...
So yesterday I bought a new Honda 50 HP (gave a deposit) and it never dawned on me that my built in gas tank in my 16 Sylvan (18 gallon Mueller) has a 50:1 oil mix in there. The Honda is 4 stroke and doesnt mix oil with gas. Now I realize I can syphon the gas out but wont the oil residue left in...
I have a 2006 Yamaha 8 HP motor I use for trolling. Today it started right up but when I pushed the shifter in forward or reverse, it just stayed in neutral. It just wont come out of neutral. Can anyone help me out here? Thanks in advance Bob
I bought a used 8 HP Nissan outboard (2000 model) and I noticed when hooking up the muffs with a hose, it squirts water out the back in the normal place but also out a small hole in the front of the unit. I went online and it seems a few others also noticed this. Does anyone know if this is...
I have a 1995 30 HP Johnson electric start tiller. Last year when I went to start it,I would press the button and all I would hear is a grinding or humming noise. If I kept pushing it eventually, it caught and the motor started. Recently I just tried starting it after the winter and same thing...
Recently I got a Yamaha 115 4 stroke outboard. I have always had smaller outboards 5-30 HP range and I always drained the gas out of them before winter by disconnecting the hose or loosening a carb screw to drain. Any idea how I drain the gas out of this motor? I dont see a quick disconnect...
I need to get a new fuel hose for my 1998 Honda 5 HP kicker. Would the hose diameter matter a whole lot. I believe Honda uses a 6 mm hose but I cant find it locally. Can I just get a generic 3/8" hose assembly and use the honda fittings? Would it affect the way the motor runs any? Thanks
Re: Dumb question about mounting motor
Yes I am talking about the 1" space between the top of the transom and the part of the motor that normally sits on the transom. See pics. Thanks for your replies.
I just got a 1 year old Competitor 175 and I am trying to mount a track system for rod holders, downriggers, etc but have found the top of the gunnel to be a bit too narrow for the holes in the Berts tracks (3.5" wide). I guess I could redrill the holes but why at $50 each? Has anyone else with...
I just got a used boat only 1 year old and I noticed the 115 HP outboard is not touching the transom by about 1 inch and is bolted instead with 4 huge bolts. Shouldn't the bottom of the motor be touching the top of the transom? Seems like a dumb question but if thats how the dealer rigged it, I...
Recently I got a 2012 EZ loader bunk trailer (19'), nice trailer but on the very back where the transom saver attachment socket would have to attach there is a long LED light that is smack in the way. I have looked at several types of sockets but the light is in the way of everything. There is 1...
Does anyone out there have a Yamaha F115xa connected to a kicker motor that can tell me what you are using for a connector rod/kit? I see there are several after market ones but seems like they all have to be jury rigged with hose clamps, etc. Thank you much.
